![]() 10 Clyde Valley pupils took part in last week’s North Lanarkshire Council Suicide Prevention football tournament. The event, held at Ravenscraig Sports Facility, allowed pupils the opportunity to play football in front of two Scottish football stars, Clyde Manager Barry Ferguson, and Motherwell FC Assistant Manager James McFadden. More than 150 amateur players and high school pupils took part in the special five-a-sides tournament. Also on hand were Albion Rovers Manager Darren Young and former Motherwell and Rangers player Bob Malcolm, who offered their support and advice to all the young players. The Clyde Valley team was made up of S6 pupils: Craig Tart, Scott Crosbie, Connor Allan, John Groome, Ewan MacDonald, Ross Taylor, Dillon McArthur, Craig Robertson and their manager, Brooke Clarkson. The team performed well and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Thanks go to Mr Graham Lang, of the PE Department, who organised the school’s involvement in this worthwhile event and who supervised on the day.
