The staff and parents of the Nursery, thanked Clyde Valley High staff and pupils, for what had been a very enjoyable visit.
Earlier this month, the staff and pupils at Clyde Valley High School, were delighted to welcome two groups of pupils, staff and parents from Castlehill Nursery and Communication Unit. After a welcome by Mrs Neilson (DHT) the youngsters were given a 'sneak preview' of their new school and treated to some juice and biscuits, before a quick look around the outside areas and then a walk back to Castlehill. The youngsters were able to look down on the Nursery/Primary/CDU, from the vantage points of Science and Home Economics and see the colourful walls and large classrooms which will be waiting for them in August. The S6 pupils who helped with the visit, all agreed that it had been a thoroughly enjoyable day. The youngsters themselves were very well behaved and seemed impressed by the size of the new building. Mrs Neilson commented on how smart they all looked in their matching rain jackets and she was very impressed by the varied questions that the youngsters had for her and the senior pupils guiding them around the building. It was very obvious that from the tiniest little one, to the largest S6 pupil, there was a real connection. This visit has given a real sense of what we can achieve in August, when our 3-18 Campus is complete and we can really forge links across the whole spectrum of pupils, who will be under the same roof.
