Mrs Anne Traynor, Faculty Leader of Expressive Arts, produced a very varied programme of entertainment and community carol singing. The talented group of pipers and drummers set the tone for the evening with an entertaining set. The drummers in particular, wowed the audience with their skills and their unusual light display. A group of senior pupils received many laughs and plaudits after their humorous sketch, ‘The Spirit of Christmas’. The audience took to their feet at the end of the concert as the choir led everyone in ‘Merry Christmas Everyone’. The evening was a truly joyous celebration of the true meaning of Christmas. Head teacher, Mr Nick Quail, was also thrilled to present Mr Andrew Flynn, a representative from St Andrew’s Hospice, with a cheque for £500, the proceeds from the concert. Andrew spoke emotionally about the Hospice and proudly announced that to date, Clyde Valley High School has raised over £37000 for the Hospice.
